Each fall, the REMC Bid Project invites educators from around the state to evaluate equipment that was bid for the following REMC bid year. Participants provide feedback that the Project uses when making award recommendations.
The 2008 Face Off will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Lansing Center, and will include the multimedia projectors and interactive whiteboards being considered for the 2009 REMC bid. Lunch is provided.
Please share this information with anyone at your ISDs and local districts who might be interested in participating. An invitation with registration information is forthcoming.
The computer and network electronic bid that was released earlier this year went to contract July 1 and will run through June 30, 2011. New awarded vendors include Apple, Blue Raven Technology, Dell and IBM. Continuing vendors include Foundry Networks, Hewlett-Packard, JEM Computers, Lenovo, MPC, and Sehi Computer Products. The network electronics portion of the bid has been expanded to include more categories, catalog discounts along with product sampling under each discount category. Computer technology has been upgraded and will be refreshed quarterly, but the computer portion of the contract otherwise remains largely the same. You are invited to attend the REMC Technology Showcase on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Genesee ISD/REMC 14 in Flint, Michigan. The REMC State Acquisitions Project and the REMC/GenNET Online Project is hosting this event in partnership with REMC 14 and the Genesee ISD. There is no charge to attend this event. There will be many promotional giveaways for attendees every half hour. You must be present to win.

The ENX, ENX-5 and the ENX-7 lamps work in all overhead projectors that call for an ENX lamp. All three lamps are rated to last 75 hours. The difference between them is the voltage used by the lamp, the light output and the lamp life. Compared to the ENX:
ENX-5: approximately 15% fewer lumens, 2% less color and 70-100% longer life
ENX-7: Approximately 25% fewer lumens, 4% less color, and 100-150% longer life
