Educational Resources was recently acquired by another company. This acquisition did not include the portion of Educational Resources that sold Microsoft products to Michigan school districts.
The REMC $AVE project has worked with CDW-G (the next lowest bidder) and CDW-G has agreed to honor their bid.
Any REMC 13 school with a Microsoft product purchase order to Educational Resources will need to void their purchase order and issue a new one to CDW-G. Our office is contacting those districts directly with this information.
All future purchase orders for Microsoft products under this contract will need to be made out to CDW-G, 230 N. Milwaukee Ave, Vernon Hills, IL 60061. Orders can also be faxed to 866.552.2394.

REMC $AVE Bid wants to hear from you! It’s a challenge to really tell us just what you think with a competitive spirit! REMC $AVE is hoping to beat last year’s respondent record of 219. Currently there are 155 responses with the majority originating from REMCs 1, 7, 18, 19 West.

Projectors and accessories
Each fall, the REMC Bid Project invites educators from around the state to evaluate equipment that was bid for the following REMC bid year. Participants provide feedback that the Project uses when making award recommendations.
The 2008 Face Off will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Lansing Center, and will include the multimedia projectors and interactive whiteboards being considered for the 2009 REMC bid. Lunch is provided.
Please share this information with anyone at your ISDs and local districts who might be interested in participating. An invitation with registration information is forthcoming.
The computer and network electronic bid that was released earlier this year went to contract July 1 and will run through June 30, 2011. New awarded vendors include Apple, Blue Raven Technology, Dell and IBM. Continuing vendors include Foundry Networks, Hewlett-Packard, JEM Computers, Lenovo, MPC, and Sehi Computer Products. The network electronics portion of the bid has been expanded to include more categories, catalog discounts along with product sampling under each discount category. Computer technology has been upgraded and will be refreshed quarterly, but the computer portion of the contract otherwise remains largely the same. The 1st quarter Xerographic Paper contract runs January 1 through March 30, 2008.  The price of 8 1/2″ x 11″ white paper will decrease about two percent, with the cost of most other products remaining the same.
2008 REMC Bid Catalog: Beginning January 1, the online and print catalogs will look different. The online catalog will have an additional level of detail in the product category list on the left side. This will make it easier to find products, particularly in categories that have many items. Some category names will change to make searching for product easier (i.e. toner and ink cartridges will now be under Printer Supplies). The print catalog will be organized in the same order as the online catalog.
You are invited to attend the REMC Technology Showcase on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Genesee ISD/REMC 14 in Flint, Michigan. The REMC State Acquisitions Project and the REMC/GenNET Online Project is hosting this event in partnership with REMC 14 and the Genesee ISD. There is no charge to attend this event. There will be many promotional giveaways for attendees every half hour. You must be present to win.
