As we get ready for Election 2008, the Michigan e-Library (mel.org) is featuring a Special Topics with selected Web sites on this important event. The Election 2008 section contains online resources to find information needed to help you and your patrons, students, etc., prepare for voting in the November 4, 2008 general election. Information on where to vote, how the process works, absentee ballots, campaign finance and lobbying disclosure and much, much more.
Resources include sites for all represented political parties on the ballot and the candidates representing those parties with biographical data, speeches, and information on where the candidates stand on various issues. Sites from non-partisan organizations attempt to provide clear, unbiased political information and debunk false claims with reputable resources. Wording from statewide ballot proposals is also provided.
